Hello everyone and welcome to The Joyful Daisy Art Studio Blog!
I am Heather Sarfi, formerly known as the artist behind SarfiArts, and the Artist behind the new Joyful Daisy Art Studio. I am an acrylic/watercolor artist. You will see some of my paintings throughout the blog from time to time. You can find them all on FB by clicking this link… https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61589750185334
I have also always loved to write short stories, poems, and devotionals; some serious, and some funny! Laughter is key. Helping people feel encouraged and hopeful in their walk with Christ is a JOY. For many years, I have wanted to put my thoughts in a central location instead of scattered in various notebooks, journals, and on the backs on church bulletins and grocery receipts. (iykyk lol). On one hand, that is how this blog came to be.
Many years ago, I surrendered my life to the ministry. I didn’t know how God was going to use me, but I knew that I needed to commit, out of obedience, to doing whatever it was. Over the years, I have been blessed to serve in various ministries; all of which I am thankful for.
In this current season, being newly divorced and relocating to my home state, I began praying, “LORD, what am I to do now? How can you even begin to use a divorced housewife/dog mom? Is this where I’m supposed to take up knitting? (no offense to my knitter friends). What do I have to offer? Why would anyone take me seriously NOW?!?”
Friend, let me tell you…Those thoughts are what the enemy put in my head.
God only needs us to be OBEDIENT to Him. He works through our hurts, and He has a way of using us in the rawness of our lives to minister to others. I want to be used of Him. I have seen some things, walked through things, experienced loss, death, hopelessness, loneliness, and felt sheer fear…. BUT GOD… He has been my source of hope and Joy; even through those times. Of course, I may not have understood it then; but I KNOW He is the source of my strength…. every single day. I long for others to know Him and to experience the same; no matter the season.
God gave me this verse: “May the God of hope fill you with JOY and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
This is the verse that is ‘behind’ the new name “the Joyful Daisy Art Studio”.
For starters, I love Daisies and I have the sweetest pup named Daisy, go figure. Surely everyone finds JOY in a field of daisies and everyone loves my little girl…see for yourself below! Secondly, it truly IS MY DESIRE that others experience the JOY/HOPE/PEACE of the LORD; no matter the season they are in. So, hang with me, check in often, comment when you feel led, ask for prayer when you need it, and settle in to see what the JOY-giver does!
What unfolds in these blog pages is truly up to Him. It is beyond my comprehension, but I am HERE for it and I’m THRILLED you are too!
