I and many of my friends and family are going through a lot right now; heartbreak, loneliness, financial challenges, sickness, loss of loved ones, addiction, etc. It has been a tough couple of months for many.
There have been times when I haven’t been able to find words to say in my prayers to God.
Guess what?!?
HE KNOWS my words before I even utter them!!
“You have searched me LORD and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.” Psalm 139:1-4
I have found myself praying in disbelief to God a few times questioning if He really had any idea of what He was doing!
Guess what?!?
HE IS IN CONTROL !!!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Short of hollering or screaming at Him with clenched fists, I’ve beckoned to Him, “God, are you really there?”
Guess what?!?
HE IS !!!
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Tears have flowed uncontrollably and I beg of Him, “Lord, I need you to help me!’
Guess what?!?
HE DOES !!!
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
You see, in Jesus’ own words He says,
“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29)
I can almost hear Him say to me,
“Heather, come here!
Bring me your hurts, your pain, your exhaustion, your fears.
Sit here in my lap and let me give you peace in your heart and calmness in your soul and an unspeakable joy in your heart.”
Guess what?!?
I DO !!!
Albeit sometimes I’m stomping my feet on the way to Him like a child having a tantrum.
Sometimes I run to Him with tears streaming down my face like a child running to his mother for comfort. Whatever the scenario, He is ALWAYS there!
He is here with me every single day; no matter the time or day of the week. I know I can go to Him and come away refreshed, renewed and rejuvenated.
Guess what?!?
SO CAN YOU !!!
He says to you COME and REST.
So……GO…. Go to Him and allow Him to love on you and comfort you.
Stay as long as you need; He isn’t going anywhere! He and His love are everlasting and it is especially designed for YOU…
